U2 celebrates 30 years since the release of “The Joshua Tree” album by touring in North America and Europe.
The Irish Band U2 announced Monday, January 9th that will mark the anniversary of 30 years since the album “The Joshua Tree” by touring Europe and North America where the band will perform all the songs included on this successful album. The album released in 1987 has sold over 25 million copies worldwide and climbed into the forefront of the charts with its hits “With Or Without You“, “Where The Streets Have No Name” and “I Still have not Found What I’m Looking For “.
“Recently I listened back to The Joshua Tree for the first time in nearly 30 years,” Bono said. “It’s quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current: love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarization … all the greats. I’ve sung some of these songs a lot … but never all of them. I’m up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are … it’s gonna be a great night.” .
The tour in North American continent will debut in May 2017 in Vancouver, and the EU will begin in July 2017 in London, and will include a concert on the stadium Croke Park in Dublin, the city where the band was born, 1976.
The members of U2 – Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr. – will be toured American troops OneRepublic, Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers and in Europe alongside them will take the stage group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
