British singer George Michael has died at the age of 53, in the privacy of his home, his representatives announced.
George Michael was a representative figure of 90’s music and has released over 40 in his career, with Wham! and as solo artist.
Was launched in the 80’s with Wham! duo, and over the years his albums have sold over 100 million copies. Along with Wham! launched hits like “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go“, “Everything She Wants“, “Careless Whisper“, then came “Faith“, one of his first solo singles. The song reached the first position in the Hot 100, and the album of the same name stood for 12 weeks on the Billboard 200 and has sold 10 million copies in the US alone and won the Grammy for album of the year award in 1988.
One of its big hits that came with videos in the 90s was Freedom. The song reached No. 8 in Hot 100 while the video has raised the biggest models of the time: Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington.
Other songs that British artist has released over time and arrived hits were “One More Try“, “Father Figure“, “I Want Your Sex“, “I Knew You Were Waiting For Me“, a duet with Aretha Franklin “Do not Let the Sun Go Down”. Other considerable collaborations were with Elton John and Too Funky and “If I Told you that” with Whitney Houston and As, and queen music Hip -Hop / Soul – Mary J Blige.
